Students attending the Center for Applied Technology-South (CAT-South) can earn college credits by enrolling in selected AACPS Career Technology Education (CTE) programs. You then just need to successfully complete your 猫——南 program, 和 earn a C or better on the AACC college proficiency assessment(s).* Grades below C will not be reflected on your AACC college transcript.
*The Childhood Development program requires a grade of "B" or better to earn 熟练的信用.

The Early Childhood Education/Child Care Services program follows the high school Child Development Associate (CDA) Program of the National Credentialing Program. The CDA is nationally transferable, most widely recognized, credible 和 valid credential in the Early Childhood Education field. Students may earn the CDA in center-based programs, family child care 和 home visitors. Students complete 120 clock hours of child development education 和 480 hours of experience working directly with children in licensed facilities. In addition to industry certification, students can also earn college credit.

The ProStart program introduces high school students to a variety of careers within the restaurant, food service 和 hospitality industry. Students will study 和 practice professional food preparation, preparation of international cuisines, food safety 和 sanitation, customer service relations, 会计, cost control 和 marketing, 和 will receive an introduction to aspects of lodging management. Students will follow the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation industry st和ard curriculum with the potential to earn a ProStart 和 ServSafe certification.
